Supreme Court of India Organizes Special Lok Adalat for Swift Case Resolution.
The Supreme Court's Special to hold Lok Adalat from July 29 to August 3, 2024, for swift and amicable settlements of pending cases, including matrimonial disputes, property issues, and motor accident claims.
The Supreme Court of India is organizing a Special Lok Adalat from July 29, 2024, to August 3, 2024, to help amicably settle pending cases. Lok Adalats play a crucial role in our judicial system, promoting alternative dispute resolution for faster and more friendly settlements.
This upcoming Lok Adalat reflects the commitment to providing accessible and efficient justice for everyone. It will focus on cases suitable for settlement, including matrimonial and property disputes, motor accident claims, land acquisition, compensation, and service and labor issues, all pending before the Supreme Court, to ensure swift resolution.
Established under the Legal Services Authorities Act of 1987, Lok Adalat is an alternative way to resolve disputes outside traditional courts. It is a forum where pending court cases or pre-litigation matters are amicably settled. Lok Adalats have legal standing. The decisions made by Lok Adalats are considered equivalent to a civil court's decree and are final and binding on all parties, with no option for appeal. However, if parties are dissatisfied with the decision, they can still file a case in the appropriate court, following the proper legal procedures, to exercise their right to litigation.
